Has anybody used the conversion kits from barry grant to go from alky to gas or vice versa. IF so what did you think?

Trying to decide if its worth it changing over our existing carb or getting a whole new gas carb and just swapping carbs when going from alky to gas.

Having never seen their "kit", I'd have to say I'm pretty sceptical that it could cover ALL the differences between a properly built gas carb and a properly built alky carb. They are VASTLY different animals entirely. You cannot just change jets, power valves, squirters and air bleeds and be "converted" from one to the other.
There are, however, racers who utilize the AED alky-to-gas conversion kit in order to simply fire their motors up on gas for warmup, or for removing the alky so that corrosion and "white death" doesn't develop inside the carb.
This is not, however, typically used as a method to permanently change an alky carb back to a gas carb. There's just SO much more to take into consideration.

My vote would be for two separate, and properly prepared carburetors.

Hope that helps,

i think the kits come with metering blocks, boosters, squirteers and needle valves, i think jets and bleeds are additional. Seemed like a good idea to be able to switch back and forth and have a second carb for about half the price of a complete assembly.
