I've got a GRT modified and i'm having trouble with getting holes in the oil pan? It only has about 3 1/2 inches of clearance between the ground and bottom of pan. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix it or do any companies make an oil pan with the bottom of the pan made out of thicker metal? Right now I'm running a 7qt claimer pan. What is the best oil pan on the market? Thanks.

Sounds like you need an oil pan with a skid plate. 910-15112 in your Speedway catalog. Pricey, tho-$290. Pickup is 910-15132, $41. May need to raise your ride heights or your engine. Race on a rough track?

I had the same problem, I installed a skid plate that is 1/4" diamond plate. Haven't had a problem since. Just make sure it is braced well enough so the skid plate doesn't flatten the pan when hitting burm.
