I have a set of short edelbrock valve covers and was wondering if the rockers will hit..it seems fine but I have not started the motor yet.. just need to know if I need to get tall covers.. its a 355 , sportsmen 2 heads roller rockes and a isky cam 534/545 lift.. thanks pickel..

Turn the engine over by hand first to see if there is any contact with the covers and use those extra thick gaskets.

With that lift and 1.5 roller rockers and stock height valve covers even though after market will rub.I suggest a tall valve cover.Long slot roller rockers add more lift to your camshaft also.

If you have trouble and want to run those valve covers check on thick gaskets I dont remember who makes them but ive seen some over 1/4 in thick that may help....Towman

RangeRover I have seen the rockers dent the stock valve covers with a high lift camshaft and as with any high lift cam the stock rocker arm geometry is off.

Anything over a 550 lift hyd or solid will dent the covers even with stock rocker arms.

I have even witnessed 515 lift dent the covers.He needs to get a good set of tall valve covers and be done with it.
