Crane tech guy told me to cross over # 5 plug wire over top of # 7 wire to stop a misfire caused by running them parallel , Has anyone heard of this theory ?
Only misfiring when using the Crane Hi-6 box.

I think you would have to have some very poor plug wires to have them cross fire . Most of the major brand plug wires are insulated well enough where cross fire is not an issue anymore . Make sure that your mag pick-up wires are not running parallel to the coil lead wire's , or anywhere near them for that matter , anywhere in your car . This is actually the most common problem that I see on peoples cars when they run into a misfire problem . If they are next to each other anywhere in your car , then they can induction fire and send a false trigger to your box . Also make sure if your not using the factory wire loom , or if you had to splice the mag pick-up wire's anywhere , that the polarity is correct on the mag pick-up wire's . If the polarity is backward , this will also cause the problem your speaking of . You should be able to call Crane and find out if the Hi-6 box runs in the most retarded or advanced position .

Thanks Steve I'll look into all of that.
I've been running the box for five years now and this is the first problem i've had with it .
I'm also running accel 8.8 wires so it shouldn't be them.
