FORGOT TO MENTION THAT IF IT DROPS BELOW 1000 RPM'S IT STALLS INSTANTLY LIKE SOMEONE HIT THE KILL SWITCH.

is the dist locked, had same prob turned out timing was set way slow sounded ok when revved a little because centrifigal advance kicked in and bumped the timing died instantly below 1100rpm like switch was shutoff.

If it won't idle right but is otherwise ok i'd say probably a vacuum leak.

Found the problem, It was the Crane Hi-6 box.
Does anyone know if Crane fixes these things or do they just say buy a new one.
Thanks?

The actual problem was the box was retarding the timing so much at idle it sounded funny and kept stalling.
Locked in the dist now and gonna try it again tomorrow .
Anyone have a problem like this before?.
Thanks
