If you had to choose between a 4412 or a holley 390hp carb. Which one would you choose is there much difference in flow between them.

Assuming that you have your choice of manifolds I'd have to go with the 390HP every time.

The 4412 is rated 500 cfm by Holley at 3.0" Hg pressure drop, while the 390 is rated at 1.5" Hg pressure drop. If you rate the 4412 at 1.5" Hg pressure drop it actually flows 240 or so cfm. That just one of several reasons I'd go with the 390.

OK based on the numbers you just posted would it be logical to assume that the 390 would flow over 700cfm at 3.0 Hg Drop.

Second question is a holley 750 rated at 1.5 or 3.0 Hg ???

I don't have the formula handy but the 390 would flow quite a bit more air at 3.0" Hg pressure drop.

The 750, like all Holley four barrels, is rated at 1.5" Hg pressure drop. Only the two barrels are rated at 3.0" Hg pressure drop.

Quick question Earl. i have a chevy 358, vortec heads(not ported) .530 lift cam, aluminium dual plane intake, 11:1 compression, 1"5/8 headers. looking at the 4412, 390hp and the 750 which one do you feel would be best suited for 1/4 to 3/8 mile track, turning 6800 to 7200 rpm.
