If I get a 305 from a 91 camaro..TBI injection, is it real hard to change it over to run with a carb? This engine seems like a good deal and is close to me, but I don't want to end up wasting my time.

Thanks

You will either have to drill the center bolt holes on another intake or buy an after mkt. put on your carb and go...I guess you will be using an old style HEI dist. that would be the best way to go...Hope this helps ya....Towman

o.k. do you know if I can use an older 305 intake or will it end up being something special? I know it can be done, but I'm not sure how, thats all

You need a intake made for 87 to newer small blocks. Doesnt matter that it is a 305. Up until 86 all the intake bolts holes in the head were at the same angle. After that the 2 center bolts on each side were angled like 17 degrees different than the others, that is the only difference.

Although an intake to match the newer heads is the easiest you can make an older intake work. If you want more info let me know or PM me and I will try to help out.

If I remember correctly the 2 intake bolt holes on each side of the throttle body are strait up and down instead of on an angle like the rest of the intake bolts that bolt the intake to the head you can take a drill and oblong the bolt holes where you can stand the bolts up and start them you might add a little sealer to that area but Ive done it before with know problems....Its either do that or buy a new intake for the conversion.....Towman
