I just bought a used 4412, it has a plug where the power valve goes. Is it as simple as just putting one in? Is the metering block the same as one w/ the valve? Thanks ahead of time, your thoughts are greatly appreciated

Hi Brad,
The metering block may or may not be the original, but more often than not, ministock guys will plug the PV and add several jet sizes as an attempt to "crutch" the 4412 into working for them.
Remove the PV, check that the PV feed holes under it are not drilled more than .050-.070", and install the PV of your chosing.
One way to check that it is a 4412 block is that the emulsion channels (V-shaped vertical channels) will have 2 emulsion holes in each side.
Some 4412 blocks actually had "4412" stamped on top but more often than not, they used the stock # instead (which varied at times over the years).
In a nutshell, if the block hasn't been altered severely, you will be fine to just install your PV and jet accordingly.

Hope that helps,
