ordered a set of valve springs today that are suspose to be same as stock size and installed height was 1.700. How do you change springs just pull the old and replace new same way or is there any set up work to be done> these springs suspose to use all stock parts is what I was told.

There is a certain process you must do when installing springs.
Install height:Use shims to udjust.
Coil bind check:feeler guage check for gaps when compressed.
All measurements for install should be with packaging for springs.
Good luck

I'm going to assume this is in a race car. If you turn anything close to 6000RPM do yourself a favor and take it to a machine shop and have them install the springs. Find out from your cam maker what "over the nose" spring pressure you need and tell that to the machine shop. It should cost less than $50 to have it done. I did mine myself this year and it's well worth the money to have it done by someone that can get the pressures correct.

The best advice I can give you is have someone doit that can measure spring pressure and installed height....chaces are if your installed height isnt right your pressures wont be right either its a little extra insurance.....Towman
