is leaking oil out of the "weep holes" on the back, top side of the fuel pump. (I am guessing that wis where its leaking as I have eliminated everything else in close proximity) Its an edlebrock 6-valve hi pressure pump with 1/2" NPT fittings on alcohol. Fuel pressure stays good at 7 3/4 psi on gauge hooked to fuel log. gauge hole is upstream of the regulator. Its not a lot of oil, but its enough to drip in the trailer after a 25 lap feature. Is the diagphram bad/ or is this a normal deal? Have a seals-it kit between fuel pump and plate. oil filter relief/bypass is plugged. Oil pressure is 75# Time for fuel pump rebuild or what?

Thanks,
Joe

If you already have the Seals-It kit in there, then there shouldn't be any oil getting to the internals of the fuel pump in the first place, should there? Or did I miss something?
One quick thing to check is if this is a stock Chevy block, the short bolt on the front of the block between the pump and the timing cover might be loose or leaking.
And I assume you already eliminted the possibility that the fuel pump mounting plate isn't the culprit?

Hope you find it.

Those are bad about that, like kp said the seal should take care of that but i'd think the original seal is out and you may be able to just disassemble it and push it back into place.

66j...tell me more about these NAPA pumps.
Are the line fittings on the sides or are they movable? Compatiable with Alky?
Thanks for all the responses,
Joe

carter makes a fine gas pump but i beleive it only has 3/8 fittings and i doubt it would stand alky.

The Seals-it kits are a waste of $$. We tried them a couple of yrs. ago & they all ripped the first night we ran them. Seals-it did stand behind their product & sent us a new one but it tore also. j.m.o.
