Does any one have a head gasket preference for a 302/347? I have aluminum heads, 89 block, ARP 7/16 head bolts. I used the Felpro 1011-2 last year but have heard that the stock gasket is better unless you have motorsports block and 1/2in head bolts. I ran the 1011-2 because it has copper ring vs steel and figured it wouldnt be as hard on the alum heads. I had a head gasket problem late in the year but dont think the problem was the gasket. I lost a coil and the motor misfired a couple of times before it quit.

there is a copper head gasket available from SCE. it's .042 thick, you can get them through summit and they're re-usable.

Go with the stock gaskets, The coppers are exspensive and leaky, and besides im using stockers on a 1450hp blown 347, with no problems. JOERACER!
