The answer to that will depend on exactly what intake, carb, and spacer combination you're dealing with currently.
We've had good results with the super turtles in a Super Victor intake with a matched, tapered 1" spacer with either a 2bbl or a 4bbl carb.
IMHO, the regular turtles are only slightly measurable on the dyno and the driver would never feel any difference.
Super Turtles when properly used in the right intake, carb, and spacer combination will definitely get you what you're looking for.

Yes, much of it depends on the whole combination in question, but in general, adding more plenum volume, i.e., a taller spacer for instance will always move the torque curve higher in the rpm range.
What seems to be a popular thing to do is attempt to achieve a "best of both worlds" combo by starting with a 4 hole spacer and tapering the holes to a point. This is exactly what the Super Turtle spacer does, and many others too. The turtle, however, takes it one step further by helping to balance and spread out the incoming charge more efficiently. We've seen it smooth out the torque curve (flatten it) as well as help in balancing EGT's, too.

Hope that helps, and of course, your results may vary.

I think what you'll find best results with will be a tapered 1" spacer over the open plenum, or the full Super Turtle deal with matching 1" spacer.
