I think there are two distinct types of X rods..a narrow beam and a wide beam. The narrow ones can be found in the 305's and you'll have to go back to the 70's for the wide ones------am I right?

from the looks of it yes i have one set out of an 84 305 and two sets out of late 70's truck and one van and they look bigger than the 305

I need a set of 5.7" rods. What kind of price would any of you sell me a set of these for?

I've made the mistake you're trying to make...after you spend the $ to buy a set of X rods, you'll want to have your machinist check them, and resize the big end. You'll also want to put good ARP bolts in them and then you'll have to pay uyour motor guy to press the pistond onto them....I just went that route. For my money NEXT time I'll buy a cheap aftermarket rod (new) that has already got good bolts and is floated so I can put the rods on. I'll betcha time all is said and done, there won't be $25 difference!
