Just got my new vortec heads!! Got them back from being flat milled .040", maybe. They look the same to me as other vortec's I've seen. As a Millwright, I know what .040" is. Is there a way I can tell for sure if they were really milled, other than cc'ing them? Don't know if that's the only way or not.

Almost forgot, does anyone know the cc volume of a "stock" vortec head? I've heard 62 and 64 cc's. Does anyone know the volume one would have after being flat milled .040"??

Thanks,
Randy

if you have another stock set of v heads I believe you can take and measure the thickness of them from where the valve cover bolts on down to where it comes together with the head gasket. then you can measure the other and tell. Atleast that is what I would do. Hope this helps Bobby
