Make some long clevises to replace the heims in the back of the tranny before you install it in the car. Make sure they're long enuff to clear the tailshaft housing with the shifter arms attached and in gear. I welded clevises to 3" fine-threaded bolts, turned 'em in the same distance as the heims were, and locked 'em down with a locking nut.

Based on advice I received on this forum, I changed out the drain plug with a bolt from the hardware store. Supposedly, the stock plug will strip fairly easy.

We used the existing heims and have clevin pins go through the heims. The linkage is just flat steel, works good.

The dowell on the back of the crankshaft that helps hold the flywheel in place blocked the coupler from going down flat against the flywheel. We did some grinding on the dowell, however others may have a better idea for that one.

After we put the tranny in, we made a brace that goes from the top of the bellhousing, down to the top of the tailshaft where they have those threads. Seems to work pretty good.

I use a tail shaft support on mine. here is a pic for you. I thought about taking it off until I heard that some guys had busted ears on the case.
