I haven't done it, but here is a thought. Weld two angle irons to the cage left to right then mount the cell to two angle irons the same way. Then place tank with angle irons between the ones mounted in car. slide the tank left , middle and right and drill holes for different positions.

I just built a set in a LM that can move all over. I put a 1 3/4 tube above each frame rail on the sides. I cut two 1 3/4 tubes to fit between the two side tubes, then welded some steel weight clamps on the two cross tubes to clamp them to the side tubes. We built the frame around the cell and put clamps to the cross tubes. Now the cell can go left or right, front or back.
The original design was also going to incorperate a bracket to be able to go up and down in the end bars.
