Does anybody know where a website is for info on setting up 9" gears.
How difficult is this to do and are there any special tools needed or is it just a lot of trial and error. Never built one before just bought preassembled units.

if you've never set-up a 9" 3rd member before, then you'll either need a dial indicator and an inch lb. torque wrench or you'll need to be instructed by someone who has set-up a bunch of them. i've set-up plenty and after you have a "feel" for it, you don't necessarily need the special tools.

thanks for all the help.

Actually all i want to do is change out the minispool and stock carrier for a full spool. After some reading it sounds like all i would have to do is remove the ring gear assembly change out the spools then assemble and set backlash and pretty much be done. I wouldnt necessarily have to mess with the pinion assembly. Does this sound right?

As far as setting the ring and pinion back up, why not use the instructions from the people who make the gears? This is pretty simple to do.

Good Luck.
