there are different grades of alcohol. the cheaper grades are "wash" or solvent grade and are not as clean as others. our engine builder gets us ours so i dont even know what brand it is. we ran the same fuel filter all year while my buddie changed his 5 or 6 times. i dont think there is a performance difference just that some is cleaner than others. look in your filter or in the bottom of a barrel and you'll see the difference

ALL methanol is from Methanex, the rest just repackage it and they MIGHT refilter it they might not and then resell it at a HIGHER price.

I wish I could get that deal in Kansas City - all the dealers for methanol either want you to be a reseller or have an industrial use for the methanol - when you mention racing they immediately say that they're not in that business and don't want the liability, etc... Current wholesale pricing is ~$.75/gallon when purchased by the ton - surely allowing a distributor to make 100% markup should be adequate in my books... Heck we should start a racer's fuel co-op similar to what a lot of industries do.
