posted February 22, 2004 11:59 AM
I have a dw-8 unimount car that is currently set up for 2-link and I am switching to 4-bar or 4-bar left, Z-link right.I am planning to build the pucks myself. What is the bar lengths center to center and the puck length, bolt center to center for each that everyone is using. Thanks in advance.

I believe that the pucks shorten the bars to two inches shorter than the top bars. I think that mine are around 6 inches. I will measure them tonight and let you know.

Mine come out to about 8.25" center of bolt to center of bolt.

Off the top of my head the new dw-9 i beleive have roughly 15" bott and 17" top bars. You can go shorter if you want but i'd stick with the 2" difference between top and bottom.

Dirtworks website says use like a 14.5 upper and a 12.5 lower. the 15-17 is a good starting point. You dont have to have the 2 inch difference. i have a slick track set up that has a 16 upper and 20.5 lower. on the lr.
but for the most part try to keep lowers around 2 inches shorter than top. you may go 3 inches shorter on rr to reduce rear steer.
