I use poly. The rubber can move enough to give you a soft feel in the front but will still break with hard contact. the steel ones will move the lower mounts when hit hard. At least thats my feeling on them.

The steel bushings will bend the mounts if hit hard enough. Generaly the A-frame gives up first.

I have never run steel so I dont know about them. We run poly in everythign and I would reccomend staying away from stock rubber replacements especially on the RF. We once had a lower arm with rubber bushings that would give nearly 3/8". A brand new one might not be bad, but they wont hold up long like a poly will, and they still give more.

I don't recommend steel bushings on the dirt.
Energy Suspensions makes a poly bushing that is much more rigid than rubber but will absorb shock loadings without tearing the mounts out of the chassis.Only run steel bushings on the asphalt.
