Lift arm and fifth arm are the same thing just said in different names, also used by some as a braking only bar while the axle wrap is controlled by a pullbar off the top of the rearend.

so then is the braking bar connected to the rearend like the fifth arm? i thought that they were all pretty much the same except what you run on the front of the bar like a slider, chain, shock, etc.

Fifth arm is used as a braking arm with just a chain in front . If used as a lift bar you would have the chain, shock and or a spring in front.

In Imca you cant use the fifth arm and pullrod together. As to using a brake rod with a pullrod it hasnt been done to my knowledge.

Plain and simple either run whatever kind of rear suspension you want to run with either a lift arm or a pullrod/pullbar.

i'm not running IMCA running a harris with 4bar zlink w/long pull rod. would it be to my advantage to run the braking bar with it? i think it is legal in usra. doesn't skyrocket use both pull rod and braking bar/5th arm?

They are legal some, i am going to run a pull bar and a 6th coil(instead of a chain to limit travel, it will compress a spring as the brakeing bar works) on a brakeing bar. it will tighten entry up a ton. But some pull bars will not let the 6th coil work.(they have internal stops on them). Afco also now makes a mod legal size 6th coil, it is a 300 pound rate.
Like custom mentioned the pull/push bar afco makes one that uses the same spring for both pulling and pushing, they will help on entry. will do about the same thing.
I think some skyrockets do some dont have a braking bar.
