What kind of car does a 605 steering box come out of???? What kind of idler arm, pitman arm, and center link should I run with that steering box??

605 was used on a variety of gm late model cars in the later 80's on different models of cars. Need more info as to what frame your wanting to put one on.

My boss and fellow racer has one and he says its a really quick steer box. So quick with a steering quickener that he can drive one handed.

The 605 box came out of the metric cars, among others. I don't know that it is any quicker than the others, but I use it for what you will be doing and it is definitely lighter. I run a corrected front DW-8. To use the 605 box in this application, it requires the pitman arm from a MANUAL steering box for the '67 - '72 chevelle.

Woops... I forgot to answer your entire question. You then just use the stock center link and idler arm.

Like greggie said its pretty much a bolt in piece as long as you have the right pitman arm. They are like 8# or something lighter than the big box.
Keep in mind they are not as strong as the bigger boxes. If you ever have a hard hit in the front end and it acts funny you might want to check the box out. We run a 605 but carry the chevelle box with us in case we need to swap it out due to damage.

I tried them for a couple years, They are really not worth the weight loss in my opnion cause they dont hold up very good.
Take one good shot in the front tire and you can strip the gear box out.
They are very weak,
Just my thoughts
