On a gm you want a 605 box, used on various different later model cars. Not all cars had them.

zero...if you have a metric mid-size like monte, cutlass, regal 78 up or if you use that style pitman arm, it will work with the 605 pitman arm, you might have to adapt p/s fitting from flare to o-ring depending on what you have now, also make sure you have the same size input shaft (3/4 or 13/16) if you buy used check for leaks.
Hollander # 1206A
79 v6, 80 thru 83 Monte,Century,Grandprix,Lemans,Regal,Malib
Hollander# 1113A
78 thru 79 v8 same models
they use both 605 and the 800 type on these models. Also the shaft size is differant between 605 and the 800.
I work at a wrecking yard and have been through these gears alot but I have found it is hard to work with years on race cars you pretty much have to deal with the physical differances. hope it helps.

The gear box is not a good place to save weight. The 800 is by far the better way to go.Been there done that.

I have tried the lighter steering box and have broken them a each time. It is Very easy to visually tell the difference between the two boxes, the lighter one doesn't have the four bolts on the top.

The light box has a snapring on top of the box. the heavy one has the 4 bolt cover.

The 2 that I got came off of early 80's El-Camino's, The pitman arm would not interchange with the box that has the 4 bolt top cover.

JDTURNLEFT - What's the chances you could hook me up with some pitman arms to fit the 605 steering box? All my sources in this part of country don't have anymore. Leave reply, Thanks!
