How many of you use the dust boots on the tierods and balljoints i always have but see many others without them. The only advantage i see is maybe seeing a bent part.

we just wash in wd 40, something that dries and doesn't attract dirt.

The funny thing about those little boots is that were intended to keep dirt out, but they also do a good job of keeping it in. We never run them, just wash the car every week and lube the chassis every week.

On my new car I put them on. Just because I dont like grease everywhere. Plus with them on there, they help keep extra grease in the joint and help to keep dirt from actually getting down into the actual joint. Even with them on, it doesnt take much to tell if a joint is bent.

We leave them off if only to make it easier to see if the ends are bent. Grease, grease, grease everywhere, though.
