We run Performance Friction Carbon Metallic 80 series pads. They are very nice, easy on the rotors and they don't fade or take much to break in.

I have used the Hawk pads, black compound on metric rotors. They eat up rotors in a hurry. They seem to work good though.
When they were new, I did get a small amount of sparks but that went away over time.

We always run the organic $7.99 cheapies. They wear out pretty fast, but are very easy on rotors. I had a little fade on AR's, but none on Hoosiers.
