I work at Salina Speedway in Salina, KS. I did figure out the newletter goes on the net about the same day it goes to the printer which is the 4th Thursday of every month (I think). I always read it online first.

got them today they made a few changes from there original money pit class
chassis any 1964 and newer 108-112 wheelbase not just ford now and option of spec 3 link or stock oem rear suspention
front suspention must be all stock with except for spec uppr a frames as an otion and spring spacers any thing that is not stock will have to add 50# to the front end of the car
shocks will be bilstein 1043 on the front of every car and s8m bilsteins on the back for 3 link cars and 1044 for stock rear cars
stock rear end says safty hubs are alowed not sure if that means floaters or not?
imca wheels with 4 in backspace
12 gallon cell with foam only
tranny
manuals must have 7.25 min singlr disk clutch
auto says only lines are fpor cooler and must have functioning pump so i guess that means must have a valve body setup for direct drive if you want to run that
carb just says one holley 4 brl so i guess thats kinda unlimited there on a weiland7547 imca intake toppro line imca heads
360 flatops only stock 5.7 rods and stock steel crank stamped steel roller tip rockers, solid lifters spec hei parts and the claim is just exchange cost claimer$50
only alowed oil and water gauge not sure about a tach
for the most part they are heading in the right direction i agree with 95% of these final rules just if they would drop the $700 spec heads and intake and run a 4412 carb which you can get for under 100 buck used just about anywhere instead of the holley 4 brl a guy could build an entire motor with stock heads and that spec intake and a 4412 carb for the price of those heads and carb alone they are so close to something big here just think those heads and carb are gonna shoot them in the foot

actully they are listed in my jr motorsports book for 639.99 but i figure now thatthey have an imca logo cast into them that has to be worth another 50-60 bucks a pop. they way they have these rules set up for another 50 bucks a guy could have a 12:1 with an alky carb. i could build a 9:1 long block with smogger heads for the price of those sppec parts alone

never really been IMCA's bandwagon, but the spec heads do keep your smogger motor from being thumped by a set of ported $1500.00 heads. Is the glass half full, or half empty?

if your talking about the imca glass it's completely full 1/2 with stupidity and the other half is greed
you can port a spec head just as ez as a stock head and actully it is easier to get away with porting a spec heads then a stock one because the lazy tech man looks for a stamp and that makes it legal at least on a stock heads they have to look around what it all amounts to is get tech guys that are worth a crap and let us run an afordable engine

I guess they have come to their senses a bit with the rest of the rules. I agree racer17j. The spec head will be abused and expensive. Aw well, as far as IMCA goes, you can't polish a turd.

But still, what is wrong with the 2 barrel, auto tranny Wissota mid mod cars? Why manuals and solid cams?
