Anyone ever try putting lead shot in the rear down tubes? I was wondering what 30 or 40 lbs. of lead mounted that high would do to the handling?....probably realy stick the right rear .....any one willing to discuss if they have tried this?

Never tried it, sounds possible and a good idea, if its legal. check your rules to see if there is anything that CLEARLY states you can't, if not then I would say "go for it"

Lead mounted high will make the car tight. Lead mounted low will make the car loose. Never used lead shot. Just bricks. Much easier to move around. Our lead is mounteed hi and it's a really tight car.

we have put it in the cross bar between the rear frame horns we capped the end filled her to the weight we wanted then hit her with the torch to melt it in place let it cool thenwelded it in we like to do it that way so we don';t have to use as much the farther past the rear ens you go the more leverage you get making it possible to get more % with less weight
