I DONT KNOW WHAT THE DEAL IS WITH IMCA.THEY COME UP WITH SOME SILLY STUFF SOMETIMES.THERE LIKE ALOT OF SANCTIONS THEY DONT REALY KNOW WHAT PARTS COST.I GOT A PROMOTER A GEAR SET UP A FEW YEARS AGO,HE COULDNT BELIEVE HOW MUCH IT COST TO PUT A COMPLETE GEAR TOGETHER.I TOLD HIM JUST THINK YOU NEED 6 MORE OF THESE IF YOUR GOING TO RACE DIFFERENT TRACKS.ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS PICK UP PARTS CATALOGS AND LOOK FOR THEMSELVES.I WONDER SOMTIMES IF POCKET $ HAS SOMTHING TO DO WITH IT.

the funny thing about this imca sport mod deal is they hot lapped it wiht the regular mods at boone and it kept up and even passed a few so basilcy you are spending the same money going the same speeds and racing for 1/2 the money sounds like a winner of a class to me long live sims/ulma

The Sportmod raced at the Supernationals was a brand new roller at $5000-$5500. Stock rod and crank 355 with the spec heads and intake. Powerglide and non floater rear axle. Rex Merrit drove it.

It won't cost the same and the low pay will bring only those that race for sport and not money. Might be a nice crowd to race with. Changes are coming for the Sportmod so relax till they are in print.

dave we have had this discussion before $600 heads don't belong on a entry level class.the only thing on those cars that is any cheaper then the regular mods is about 100 cheaper on the carb and maybe 400 on the rear end but if you break an axle it cost twice as much to replace as a floater axle does so there realy isn't much difference when you get right down to it and that chassis may have cost imca 5g but if i went to buy it it's 13 g go to the web site and add it up ya i could build a cheaper car to if i have companies sponsor me 1/2 the parts so that they will make it so everybody has to run it. these sims cars can be built for just around the same money as a hobby stock
