summit had weights in it once for almost all motors they had a ford at 130 lighter, Im assuming this is why lots of fords are running stroked 302's I think 357?

jeff joldersma

the list was for hot rodders to decide what motors to transplant etc.

Ford 347's are lighter than the 350s, and believe me they can run with them also

show me the what you are made of guys, there are stock configurations out there that are a lot lighter than a chebby!a 302 block is 1/3 the weight of a 350,and a light weight stroker crank weighs the same,347c.i.d.is easily obtainable, and weighs about 100 lbs less.imagine 100 lbs more foreward bite from an engine swap!they run just as hard and dont need to be wound up neerly as bad as a 350,ford is a torque monster, not h.p.!
