We could really use some help here. After changing over to alky from gas, somehow we cannot keep the fuel from loading in the carb. After running up the RPM, the fuel somehow loads up in the carb so that when you go to get back on the gas again it all shoots into the carb and boggs down. At idle, pressure runs at just below 2# and at 5k the pressure runs around 10#.We run a Willys Alky carb that we bought used. The carb did not come with regulator, pump, fuel log, etc.... We have purchased a new kse pump and BG regulator(using a 99# jet) with a BG fuel log. We have resorted to taking off the regulator and using a ball check valve in its place on the return line that has to be andusted after going out on the track for every race. The carb has been send back to Willys to be gone through and we have had them on the phone for hours. WHERE ARE WE GOING WRONG????

Did you get the fuel power steering pump? They have a bypass built into them allready...you just run a line back to the tank from the pump....There is a jet in the kse pump that you can change.

The pump is a single stage fuel pump and I dont know of any jets inside the pump itself.

The pump is only a fuel pump not a tandem and there is no regulator or jets.

Floats have been checked and re-checked. We did what Willys told us to do to check them, run the motor to 9psi then set them so that the fuel bairly trickles out of the sight holes.

How fast does the motor idle before it starts chokeing down i use to run a willys also i had to send it back two to three times then the last time i took it there myself. What size is your return line. You may need to put a 8pd mech fuel pump on it in the shop to see what happens then to see if the carb or call willys back and ask to talk to mike
