I recently was running a 1' spacer on my intake and was able to get my aircleaner above the distributor and wires. Motor man told me to pull spacer off and now the air cleaner barley hits the plug wires. Im thinking about spinning up a 2' spacer (between air cleaner and carb) that would get my air cleaner up a little higher. I wonder what effects this would cause.
Anyone?

IMO I would think getting the air cleaner up abit might get it in some cooler air. Cooler air = more HP. Also having the wires very close to the base could rub a spot on the wire and ground it out. I would think that a taller extension on the base would also straighten out the wirflow abit as well.

Don't understand why your motor man would have you pull the spacer. Mine suggested a 2" spacer. What kind of intake and motor are you running?
