Replaced front pump only case with rear pump case. Plugged old reverse apply hole and drilled reverse apply hole like front pump only case. Used rear govenor support from front pump only case. Transmission goes into reverse, forward and high. When try to go back into low again will not apply until I shut engine off then restart it, then goes into reverse or low ok but only once. Acts like fluid not returning to pan until shut engine off. On my front pump only cases I plugged the cooler lines. Worked for a year ok, but recently started breaking case (bent drivrshaft). Could that be the reason because the cooler lines are plugged on the rear pump case.

What type of valve body do you use? And does it also lose reverse and hi when lo goes away?

Put bypass line on cooler ports , no good still. Does it in high, rev and low. Acts like the pan is drying up. kill it let set then go again but runs out of fluid again. Level is 3/4 inch above pan rail. Or about 4 qts. It is a Coan circle track II internal bleed with the jet in the VB.

Did you pull the valve body apart? how long will it actually stay in gear when it applies? Also did you put a gasket behind the rear support?

didn't take the VB apart. Did put a gov support gasket that came in the rebuild kit. First time stayed in high long enough to drive down the road and back 3-4 minutes. Longer I let it set and go right into one gear the longer it stays engaged. I was wondering if the support gasket could have some return port blocked.

One possiable cause is the filter stopped up. I would recommend checking the line pressure to see what is going on with it.

You were right TCI, the filter was stopped up with aluminum powder. Think it is from the solid aluminum reverse clutch I just put in. Gave it .057 clearance with a steel on each side. Going to take it apart tonight and put stock reverse clutches back in. They worked for about 15 nights and had not failed. Cleaned filter and changed the fluid but reverse has quit now but high and low are working. Thanks for your help. The other place thought I should buy a support blockoff plate.
