Last night we seemed to slowly lose cylinders. On a caution, if I put it in low gear it would rev higher than normal. Temp climbed higher than normal for me on ALKY. All push rods and rockers look good. (I have been having fuel pres. problems, However No blow bye) I have never had a MSD box go bad. This box has a couple of seasons on it.
Does this sound like a good possibility?
I dont have alot of time this week , so any insight that gets me headed in the right direction quicker is greatly appreciated.

Check your plugs,if they are sooty black,I would suspect a bad ignition coil Also check the cap and rotor.Make sure you have agood dist.hold down clamp,I've had the dist.move before.

I'v lost 2 msd boxes in the past 3 years racing. Both times the car would only fire intermittently. The first time msd repaired it for 12 dallors and told me you cannot run a battery charger with the ignition turned on. I havent found out the problem this time ,but it took my autometer tach with it this time.

Thanks guys, it didnt end up being the MSD. There wasnt much water left in the motor when we disassembled it. (The temp would have probably been alot higher, if there was water in it to measure) We hurt the heads/valves, and pistons.

I ran an MSD for several years and then it failed. I had a HEI with me that had a aftermarket coil, and module and an advance kit in it, and the engine ran just as good. So I stay with the HEI. When you do this you lose the rev limit feature however. So how are you doing? I checked the Brewerton,Fullerton and Oswego points and do not see you listed, where are you running? I need your new E-mail address.

George-
We are currently running UMP weekly at 5 Mile- Point Speedway, and NON-IMCA sanctioned special shows.
I am running a Harris car for my brother this season, and have sold the DirtWorks car.
We had hoped to run the Clash at Knoxville and the Super Nationals again this season ,however we had a falling out with IMCA. We started our own modified series,(NEARA) and race next on blacktop at the former Shangri-la Speedway. (Jimmy Spencer's old stomping grounds)
