well what is better a z-link or a swing-arm? some people say they are the same is this true??? i know a swing arm car has the springs mounted on the front bar where are the springs mounted on a z-link? what are the advantages of each? still kind of adjusting to not having leaf springs.

Different people call different suspensions different things. So alot of the confusion comes from misinformation.

Swingarm refers to the springs being mounted to the locationg links instead of the rear end reguardless of if its a 3-link,zlink whatever.

Z-link refers to the arrangement of the locating links. Technically it is called a watts link. One link runs foward and the other link runs opposite both mounted to a birdcage on the rearend.

So you can have a swingarm zlink or straight zlink.
Then you get can talk about swingarm 3-links and so on and so forth, but its all really the same concepts. Clear as mud eh?

That's what it is all about...learning!
Doesn't matter what class you are running in or helping on. The only way to learn is to participate, you are doing the right thing by asking racer2x.

Each individual class has it's own forum. The suspension scenario was merged with the other forums a long while back to get things more organized.
