Last year they made pull out the MSD box so they could inspect it.

I've heard of some tracks switching MSD boxes between cars in the late models.

Well, in response to the last posts, people who think a differential is a "traction control device" drive me nuts. And I don't even run one. But I'll shut up about that.

Right now, the "hot setup" with TC is running the unit inside the Tach. Some of the websites that show the cheaper units as inside MSD boxes and refuse to show the more expensive models, thats why folks. The MSD box thing is a ruse.

Currently the "saturday night" systems are down to the size of two AA batteries, use your imagination as to where else it could be hid.

I know somebody will try to use this as justification for making it legal. I'll fight making it legal with every ounce of strength I have. And when it finally is made legal, and the saturday night fans lose all respect and stop watching, I'll see y'all at the bowling alley.

Ever hear of Black Diamond or Gold Track?

Heard of them, and used them on pavement. They (Gold Tracks, etc) are legal here, and worth about a .10 on a 1/2 mile.

A device that unlocks the rear wheels under deceleration allows a much "tighter" setup then a car with a spool, and thats where the time is gained. The car can accelerate harder without being too tight, the device is allowing the car to rotate. Thats all. It's not "controling the rate of acceleration" in any way.

By that logic, an unlocked rearend is a "traction control device" too.

Not trying to be a smart alec, but lumping diff's in with ETC just clouds the issue and problem.

i just wish our local tracks would just try and look. swapping boxes will get the ones who have a box that is hardwired for it. and the kind that is no bigger than a pack of cigs or a 9 volt battery or whatever the size it is has to plug into the purple wire somewhere. so they could at least check the wiring harness and see if anything is plugged into the purple wire but they dont even try or maybe they just dont know what to check.

Limaland told me the red distrubitor cap was illegal. It had to be black. With a fool like this, do you think he'd be able to find traction controll?
