Are you running these dry cells without an alternator? We don't run an alternator and been considering the change to dry cell.

Everyone up here in PA is on the 16 volt deal from TurboStart. Tough to find an optima in the pits anymore. Might have something to do with the factory being a couple hours away, but I know it gives an HEI or MSD quite a kick in the pants. I don't know if TurboStart has a website or not, but you can check it out at Summit.

I run an alternator and have been using the same red top Optima since 1995. Very good battery.

Alittle outdated but I've run the same Interstate battery for the last 4yrs and just bought another one for the new car.

I run an Optima as do most of the folks at my home track. We think this is the best for any race application. Go24 also has a good idea, Interstate batteries are great street batteries and probably hold up just fine. Good luck

Some of you guys are spending $200.00
On a turbo battery!! WOW. And we switched to a mod from a late model because it was suppose to be cheaper.Kinda like the rule about no aluminum heads, (like it is cheaper to run steel heads?) NOT.
IMCA rules say 12 VOLT BATTERY.
Or is this just another wasted paper print in the rule book!!!!

optima batteries are a little spendy but the dang things last,4 years and several imca crashes of all types (not including a rollover).first one lasted 5 years.
