Anyone know what companys sell reman boxes for race cars . checked with a couple of parts stores and they said they can't promise it will be the right ratio even if i order it for a specific car.

I used to drive a Caprice that was a cop car.
I changed the steering box in that and when I went to the parts house they asked if the car was a cop car. The part was 125 and the core charge was 125. If it wasnt a cop car the box was 125 the core was 35. I pulled that box when s****ped the car. I bought it from advance auto parts.
So I think you could go to the parts store and ask for a cop car box and get the quick ratio box.

Orieleys quoted me $134 for an 86 monte SS box. If you have them look up a grand national, or a Z-28 they should be the fast box. all of the parts books I have been in list a different box if it has "sport suspension". plus orileys has a lifetime warranty. run it 2 years on your daily driver that nobody ever sees and take it back and get a new one.

My suggestion, no matter where you get the box, check it out for the right ratio right there at the counter. Don't rely on the parts house to get it right. Don't pay the money until it's the right one. Also, be aware some parts houses will check your core to be sure it's also the quick steer you're turning in.
