I was wondering what I should do with my Stock Distribtor, Lock it up by welding it, leave it alone or put a specail spring curve kit in it. Also if I weld it, how do I do so? I would like to here from what other racers have had success with. Thanks

Mine's locked, used the parts supplied with the distributor.

I've never had any problems starting engines ranging from 9.5:1 to 12:1 compression IF you push the starter button first to get the engine spinning, then hit the ignition switch

Dont weld the dist. all you have to do is get the two heaviest weights that come with the curve kit and put on ONE light spring. the timing will back off when cranking and will have full advance by 2500. and you wont kill your starter when you forget to shut the ingition off before you crank it.

My distributor is locked. I've had mine wired like LimitedMod57's for 3 years and no problem. What good is the curve if you're turning above it anyways?

im with 05, When your out there on the trk
and just got spun or hit its too easy to forget to kill the on switch before crankin
and its a drain on your battery too>

Lock it!! Weld or bolt in the advanced position, in case it would come loose it will never over advance and hurt your engine. I never have a problem starting.

I would lock it. Takes care of one less thing to cause problems. We've' never had trouble getting the mod started this way. Wire the ignition and the starter the way they said above so that you can turn it over then hit the fire button.

lock her up i'm with dirtbuster anything that i can make bullit proof i'm gonna it's always those $2 parts that cost you a race so why not get rid of them if the only thing they do for you is help start the car a little easier like they said spin it over then hit the fire if you can't rember that then you don't need to get back in the race because your head isn't on straight
