on the mount that bolts to the motor....whats the difference between a truck mount and a car mount. my motor sits a little high and was just wondering if theres a difference. thanks ted

I have seen some difference in the bottoms but not the tops.

I got a set of a nova that where lower than regular truck ones by about an 1 inch, not sure if they came lower than anything else.

everything bolted up, problem is my air cleaner pokes out of the hood and i cant cut a hole for it. its a 81 grand prix with 81 monte lower mounts. i got some other mounts at a friends im gonna look at. hope they work. thanks ted

what kind of air filter and housing are you trying to use? with the stock q jet gasket and edelbrock drop air filter housing 4" element fits under hood fine. but gotte use a drop ive even used stock base cut the part that conceals filter off and 3" element and a lid that seals on the top of filter not down over just gotta find the right sized lid the edelbrock is easier or any other (summit)

we have ran into that before with the truck and van mounts being taller we just always use nova or impala stuff for mounts with that drop cleaner are you running a 4 brl to roch adapter that might have some effect i just use a plain jane stock bottom with a 3 in filterfits just fine is your top domed or flat i have had a domed one that rubbed

With a little bit of work you could redrill the upper mount holes then trim off the original holes.
