I love when people define rollers/ race ready cars when they sell em.

Rollers go for around $1500 here and usually need radiator, engine tranny and gear. May also need seat and gauges too depending.

Complete race ready usually go for $4000 to $6000 depending on condition and reputation of the car. If it won a points title and just got reskinned, its high.

I bought a "tweener" It was a race ready minus heads. I had to change some things like move the battery to the trunk, take out weight jacks, add saftey steel on the drivers side roll cage bars and swap out pistons since I cant use the domed ones at my track. It also had a hole in the hood for the air cleaner to come through, they dont let us do that at my track so I had to plug that hole. Not to mention banging out some dents and paint.

I'd say about half of what it takes to build it. I would probably sell mine for $6k, not that anyone is going to pay that for it!

If I were to sell mine I would sel ot for $6,500 turn key.

Now I know a guy that actually made money on a racecar,He got as turn key car for $4,000.Ran it a year and a half, when he sold it there were this group that had more money than sence, like the prided them selves on buying a 5,000 car for 10,000,he sold hos car turnkey,w/o extras for 9,500.

Wish I could do something like that!!

Glen I know that bunch of folks too and the really sad part was they bought the car back
for about twice what they sold it to the guy for. I'm with you on the $6500 race ready.

You bring me $6500.00 "cash" (no checks of any kind), and you can hook up to the dual axle trailer (with tire rack & veiwers platform), which the Hobby Stock (turn-key) is loaded on, and you can race that night, if you want to.

The car could use a little cosmetic work (you'll need to repaint it with your color & numbers anyway), but other than that, it's race ready!

Brand New 350 LM1 (not rebuilt, new)!
Brand new Isky Cam & Melling lifters
Brand new HEI distributor
Brand new Moroso 7 qt oil pan & Melling M55 pump.
New aluminum pullies
Aluminum water pump
Aluminum radiator
3 speed Saginaw (pull rods)
538 Gear
American Racer tires & Powder coated wheels (extras, also)
Nice "Dillon" roll cage

Runs & handles great & is very quick!

Hey Chapa and Hays, if you are talking about the car at SFS, they got alot more stuff with that 9500 than most people will ever know about. They bought a top of the line race ready team, it came with so much extra parts and other odds and ins that i would say that they didnt get the raw end of the deal completly.

But i do have to agree if it was coming out of my pocket i would not have payed that for it. But when the sponsor puts up the cash money you take what you can get.

You guys are way richer than me..... $5,000 would take the truck, trailer, and race ready car. For an extra $20 I'd throw in my wife........

At my track we have a weight limit on wives..... Mine always gets thrown out in tech due to having her intake bored out. Its a dead give away when you see how fast she runs that thing.
