what part of the pump needs to be in front of the crossmember? on mine the bottom bowl is in front, but where it meets the aluminum housing it sits a little behind. is there a smaller housing pump i can use? thanks ted

No part of the pump can be behind the front of the crossmember. Some guys have been raising their engine to get the pump past the crossmember without notching it but that probably won't pass this year.

Good luck,

its a 81 grand prix. i have 2 sets of holes in the crossmember for my lower motor mounts. of course i used the ones farther to the rear. so basically its 1.25" back. i didnt have to raise the motor. the pump doesnt hit the crossmember, just the ridge on the pump where the aluminum housing and bowl meet, is behind the front of the crossmember, its not very much either, maybe 1/8" to 3/16"
