can anyone tell me, out of what kind of car can i find a 8.5 rear end that will fit in a metric chassis.except a gn/gnx buick. ( ps wider or not no dif) thanks guys.

i used to have one out of a nova that we jigged up to run in my metric car can also thy 68-72 chevelle some of those had a 12 bolt too that would be even better more gear selections but more $$$$ also

we slapped a big car 8.5 in are metric. its a little work but its wider and easier to find stuff for. if you do it rite it can be really FREE.

You can find them in some of the late 70's trans ams. I got mine out of a caprice station wagon to go in my 78 caprice, it was an inch wider on each side, but I added an extra inch backspacing to fix that.

You can get them in any of the older monte carlo's, cutlass, and regals. 75-77 years. I ran them, but caution.... Get lotts of axles, they are hard to locate in my neck of the woods. Ended up changing to a 85' caprice same rear, but 7.5 vs 8.5
