I seen the post of about the light weight 3 speed. My question is would a 3500 hundred pound street stock that has to run in second gear benifit from a lw 3 speed. Also haveing no first gear will it burn up the clutch pretty fast. I have a old junk yard tranny 3 speed pulled from a old nova works great even the clutch was good but how do I know what kinda clutch to buy when it goes bad?

also I am running the stock flywheel from the v-6 felt real heavy is there a disatvatage to this. can you have it lightend or is there a part number or recomendation for that also

lightened trannys are run in high only.
you need the correct rearend ratio.

they generally remove first so if u gotta use second like i do u cant do it i cant get enough gear till i get a nine inch under my metric then u can pull out in 2nd gear. some rules say allworking gears so ur screwed there some say 2 forward gears so ud be okay provided u got unogh gear to run srd gear instead of second.id let it alone. if rules allow u can get the corvette flywheel. then u gotta chnge cutch and pp

yes i have to run the gm rear end so I cant get a ratio where I can utilize high gear.

take the flywheel to a machine shop and have them machine it down we used to be able to get our toyota flywheels from 26lbs down to 12 for under a hundred dollars and they still work fine.
