heard some rumors that the 10" track tire is better on a 8" wheel.. whats your thoughts on this?

at my home track, i run ten inch tires. i have been to a lot of tracks when they have a "your track rules" nights. i have competed against guys running eight inch tires. the only thing i can say is, if you have a good setup with 8 inch tires, you can run just as good as the guys with 10 inch tires.

i have never ran or even seen 10 inch tires before but it doesn't make much sence to me to put them on smaller wheels itwill make them taller for one thing and seams to me might make them a little harder to keep on the rim with the added sidewall to flex i know when we used to run go karts we always went bigger wheels then the tires called for not the other way around

they will be very round on the tread surface and not all of it will make contact.
At least thats the way it is on pavement with 10 inch tires on 8 inch wheels. the contact patch is very bad. our hobbys ran our take offs on 8 inch wheels.
