The toe setting bars are made like an H with one verticals of the H shorter, about 11". This shorter leg is placed on the wheel. As wheels have several radial rings, put the short leg in one of these. The long leg rests on the ground. You must rock the bar and get all four points, ends of bars, touching the wheel and ground. Do this on both sides of car, measure front and rear of bar on ground. Reset the bars after any adjustment. If your wheels are not bent this is a very accurate way of measuring toe setting. Toe plates that lay against the tire work okay. But tires are not a true surface. Hope this helps. It is more difficult to describe how to do this than doing it! SLEEPY
