I have heard of some people talking about shimming the rear end to make it lock up at a high RPm HOw or is this just in their heads ???

think what your hearing about is putting shims in the spiders so they mesh so tight they can't turn i guess that might work if you can weld um but i wouldn't try it

I've heard of guys doing like 17j says, put an extra shim in the spyders gears so they don't turn. It's suppose to be a trick to lock the rear when locking the rear isn't allowed.

Its possible to shim the spiders so tight that they wont move, but, after a while, the shims will wear and you will have a rearend full of shavings. The better solution would be to weld up the spiders or get a mini-spool to lock up things. The mini spool worked better for us.
