imca hobby stock.. can i move the motor back any? if so how far?

not sure if you can or not but it's not realy worth the trouble you only have about 3 inches or so to work with before the hei hits on the fire wall and you would have to make a new drive shaft

if its a metric you can and should slide the body back as far as possible. youll have some room to work with.

heres the rule from imca 2003

23. ENGINE LOCATION: Must be in stock location, using and OEM stock mounts. Metric and Ford frames must have back of fuel pump in front of crossmember, and crossmember may no be altered or moved.

my interpretation is that you certainly have a v-6 car and bolted the stock mounts to the motor now a v-8 and welded them in as far back as possible leaving just enough room for the pump youll use to clear the cross member.
