Kind of newbie questions here but..I thought fowling a spark plug just ment it was like wet with fuel or something that goes away once the motor gets running again. Also, how come you change them so often? Is that a standard pretty much?

NGK plugs will last all year and some in most cases, spend the money

they do get fouled from being wet with fuel and i have found that after 2 or 3 races they loose something. i have ran ngk plugs as well but have fouled them out too as well as the splitfire plugs.it all depends on what you have the best luck with. the reason i change them is to keep my motor at peak performance.

I like the autolites my self. The platinums are junk. I run in to a problem with them this year...The first set I got 2 weeks out of and the center came off.(did not hurt motor) The second set I put in 2 weeks ago and was in the heat run when got a miss and on the last lap smoke came out from under the hood..I pulled the plugs had one had lost the center and lost no compression...I will know in a week or 2 if piston is gone....
