I am just gettin started and need some advise as to car selection. I am planning on purchasing one that is already built without engine or tranny, I can do both of those myself. But is there a particular best car? Such as malibu, nova, or monte carlo. I am not sure. The track I will be on is 1/5 mile and it looks like most are running malibu's.

What is a metric? In the original post the track is not 1/5 mile. It is 1/2 with what looks like to me only slight banks.

metrics are midsize gm from 78-87. for a 1/2 mile if rules alow i would go with the metric the older stuff is ok for small tracks but just to heavy for 1/2 if you don'rt have a min weight rule

hey ed,
sorry i havent gotten back to you, just been busy. Don't really know what car you should run, I plan on running a Monte between
'83-'85. They r pretty light and run good @ D.B.S.
