I put one bar just inside the doorskin, out from the main cage. Supported it with 1/2" square tubing...still running the same I think it helped!

I had the same issue. I custom built a 4 bar system that sat inside of my skin and mounted in 4 places. 2 to the frame and 2 to the top of the side bars. I also built it so it would give upon a hard impact.

do you have any pics might help us alot as to giving a suggestion the way i'm reading this is you have no door bars at all and that not good is this on the right or left side or bolth on ours we have the door bars on the drivers side are 1 3/4 and come all the way out to the door skin. that way it protects the door from getting all messed up also gets the bars out away from your body so you don't hit them in a crash on the pas side we run two 1 3/4 bars straight conecting the front leg and rear hoop on the top and bottom of the door and then run one all the way out to the door to suport it if you would like i can email some pics of my car last year with the body off i'm going to try somethinfg a little differnt on the chassis i'm going to build next year on the right side so it will have a little more of a crush effect and not hurt the main cage like i have seen some do

like i said our door bars go all the way out flush with the door so rub rails could just bolt right to the door bars on the right side this is how i'm goin to do it next year we are required 3 1 3/4 door bars on the right side so i'm going to cut the one off that goes out to the door in the middel and run it diagonal so i have my 3 but i'm going to run one out to the door usuing 1 1/4 and going to to brace them to the door bars that way the smaller bar should give if need be and not bend the main cage if anything it will bend the door bar and thats ez to cut out and replace
